Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Vagary (the "Service") collects, how it is used, and how to make requests about it.

1. Information We Collect

From X, with your authorization: your X handle and profile, the OAuth tokens that let us fetch your data (stored encrypted), and the likes, bookmarks and posts you choose to sync, including their media.
From you: an optional contact email, verified before use.
Automatically: standard server logs and product analytics.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details; we store a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription.

2. How We Use It

To provide the Service: syncing, indexing and searching your content, billing, security, and understanding how the product is used. We contact you only to verify your email or about your account. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to train machine-learning models.

3. Who Processes It

Your data is processed in the United States by providers acting on our behalf for hosting, AI embedding, analytics, payments and email. Nothing is sent back to X beyond the API requests that fetch your data. We may also disclose data as required by law, or in a business transfer under this Policy.

4. Cookies

A cookie keeps you signed in, and a second one records that you are signed out so the app loads faster. Analytics cookies are set only after you sign in and accept the Terms, and never for visitors in the EEA, UK or Switzerland. Anonymous visitors receive no cookies at all.

5. Security, Retention and Deletion

We protect your data with encryption, access controls and regular audits. We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in Settings; you have seven days to restore it by logging back in, after which your account, synced content, search index and tokens are deleted. Posts and media that other users also synced are kept, as they are not tied to your account. Backups are retained for a limited period.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data. Contact us to make a request.

7. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy and will notify you of material changes.
